What is Thermoplastic

What is Thermoplastic

Thermoplastic are the type
of plastic that melts when heated and hardens
again when cooled. About 80% of the plastics
produced are thermoplastics.
Polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene,
and polyvinylchloride (PVC) are examples of
thermoplastics.
Let us try to understand this through the following
analogy: When ice is heated, it melts. When a
thermoplastic object is heated, it melts as well.
The molten ice can be formed into a new shape,
and it will retain that shape when frozen. In the
same way, a molten thermoplastic object can
be transformed into a different shape and it will
retain that new shape when cooled.
